Episode 5: Dare Devil
Serena and Dan Go On A Date - Dan makes elaborate plans to impress Serena on their first offical date. The same night, Jenny is invited to the infamous blair Waldorf sleepover and finds herself in a high stakes game of "truth or dare." Meanwhile, when Lily discovers that Eric is missing from his treatment center, she finds herself seeking help from her ex-boyfriend, Rufus.
Prince George Hotel - Formerly a very fancy hotel featuring tea and cigar rooms, the Prince George faded into disrepear during the 1980s and was eventually converted into city-owned public housing. Now a hybrid of its previous incarnation, the hotel exudes a "sense of baroque charm and faded glory." The gothic themed grand ballroom serves as a perfect backdrop for extravagant costume ball in this episode

Episode 6: The Handmaiden's Tale
MASQUERADE BALL, ANYONE? - Dan is torn between two girls when his childhood friend, Vanessa, returns home and declares her feelings for him, just as he and Serena are trying to figure out what they mean to each other. At the infamous masked ball, Blair sends Nate on a scavenger hunt, but Nate is ultimately still distracted by his feelings for Serena. Although Blair makes it perfectly clear that outsiders are not welcome, a disguised Jenny and Dan sneak into the bal. Finally, Lily asks Rufust to accompany her to an Eleanor Waldorf event in order to make Bart Bass jealous. "America's Next Top Model" winner CariDee English makes a cameo as Bart Bass' date.
Episode 7: Victor, Victrola
THINGS ARE HEATING UP BETWEEN SERENA AND DAN - After surviving the on-again/off-again nature of their new relationship, Serena and Dan finally acknowledge they are crazy about each other, despite their polar opposite worlds that constantly threaten to pull them apart. Chuck contemplates investing in a burlesque club in the hope of making his hard-to-please father, Bart, proud of him. Nate confronts his father, Captain, about the drugs he found in the house, but his father denies having a problem. Jenny discovers a secret her father, Rufus, and mother, Alison, have been keeping from her. Finally, Blair is once again devastated by Nate's actions after Jenny reveals that Nate kissed her by accident thinking she was Serena.

From Watch with Kristin: Juliana in Hempstead, New York: I'm really excited for the new Gossip Girl show, but why isn't Vanessa one of the main characters in the show? I know she wasn't everybody's favorite, but she is still a huge part of the series! What happened?
Vanessa is coming. She hasn't been cast yet, but we hear that just because she's not in the pilot doesn't mean they've cut her out of the story

What About Brian's Jessica Szohr - who played Barry Watson's neighbor/love interest right before the show was axed - is joing the cast of the CW's Gossip Girl in the pivotal role of Vanessa. As fans of the GG books know, Vanessa is Dan's childhood best friend who moved away from home, but who's come back to New York all grown up and sporting a major crush on her BFF. Unfortunately, her timing kinda-sorta sucks since she shows up just as Dad is falling head over heels for Serena

Today,near my friend's apartment,I saw them shooting Gossip Girl.Apparently this nursery school is what they're using as the exterior for the high school so they're going to be back there on a regular basis.
Penn and Blake were shooting when we saw it.And from what we saw(I'm pretty sure we saw right),there was a kiss,then Dan walking off,and Serena looking like something was wrong
No idea what episode it was for but I thought I'd pass it along BTW,if anyone lives in NYC and wants to try to catch some of the shooting for themselves,since this is a site they will use alot apparently,the 'school' building is on 93rd between Madison and Park (source: dreamon777 from ff)
Madison Square Park -(via Gawker) Gawker spies recently reported seeing a crane on the set of Gossip Girl in this Flatiron park
The Hog Pit- As love blossoms between Dan and Serena, he tries to live up to her high society lifestyle by taking her to fancy places. Serena, instead, wishes to experience 'the real Dan' and the pair wind up spending time in a dive-y pool hall set inside the Hog Pit.
Sunshine Cinema - Dan and Serena stop in at the indie theater Sunshine Cinema on Houston Street to catch a movie in an upcoming episode.
Elizabeth Street- The girls of Gossip Girl headed to this ultra chic SoHo shopping strip to indulge in the latest fashions New York has to offer on an upcoming episode.
Silvercup Studios - Silvercup is New York's largest film & TV production facility. The Gossip Girl production is based here and the location has been used for both interior and exterior scenes, most notably the rooftop scene from the pilot
The New York Palace Hotel - This multi-purpose venue serves as home to both Serena and Chuck, as well as being the location of the infamous bar scene from the pilot episode. More recently, the production team converted part of the hotel into their very own high end restaurant when a suitable eatery could not be found..
